CARTOONS BY HILARY
I am a cartoonist and illustrator. My cartoons have appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Times, Alta, Catapult and more. My debut graphic memoir Murder Book (Andrews McMeel 2021) was called “fun and freewheeling” by Publisher’s Weekly and was shortlisted for Best Nonfiction of the year at Bouchercon. In 2023 my journal What Did I Do Today? was released and I am currently working on my second graphic nonfiction The Joy of Snacking. I have an Etsy shop and am available for custom made orders and freelance illustration. Past clients include The White House Correspondents Dinner, Law & Order, Forensic Files, PlutoTV, NBC’s The Good Place, Basecamp, Elvie, JOKR, Dinnerly, RxR Realty, The Gates Foundation, La Prenda Wines and more.
FILMS BY HILARY
I make documentary films. My first film This Is Not The End is a short documentary vignette about my family shot on B&W 16mm. It was awarded top prizes at No Budget Film Fest and SF IndieFest before becoming a Vimeo Staff Pick. My second film Small Talk premiered at the Slamdance Digital Bolex Fearless Filmmaking Showcase where it was awarded the Grand Prize. It has gone on to play at Rooftop Films, Nantucket & Traverse City Film Festival, among many others. I am currently in post production on my third film Uncle Jim, for which I was awarded the Rooftop Films Short Filmmakers Grant to complete.
